International Games Day @ The Mystic & Noank Library

The Mystic & Noank Library will join over a thousand libraries around the world on November 19, 2016, for the ninth annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ Your Library. Like so many other libraries across the globe, the Mystic & Noank Library will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for the whole family.

International Games Day @ Your Library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, and Nordic Game Day. Upcoming Winter Storytimes!

Scheduled to meet weekly Mondays through Fridays, classes consist of stories, finger-plays, crafts, and songs. Due to demand registration is required and class size is limited.

Registration will take place online starting the week of November 1st, 2016. Classes will begin the week of January 9th, 2017.

Registration can be done through EventKeeper; links will be posted on the Libraries website. We will attempt to accommodate everyone but in the case of over-enrollment classes will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Story-Time programs run for eight weeks and are free and open to the public.

Tellebration! 2016

Join us at the Mystic & Noank Library on Monday, November 7 to enjoy the magic of the storytelling tradition. Veteran storyteller Gail Zeiba will be sharing her talents as part of Tellabration!, an international program of stories for children, celebrated every November. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. and is appropriate for ages 3 and older.

Tellabration! is produced by the Connecticut Storytelling Center and funded for the Library by the Friends of the Mystic & Noank Library. This program is free and open to the public; no registration required.

College Readiness: SAT Suite of Assessments

Stop by the Library on Monday, October 17 for the third installment of our College Readiness Series.

Sabrina Lavieri, Director of State and District Partnerships at The College Board, will offer a in depth look at the evolving SAT Suite of Assessments and related student resources.

This program is free and open to the public; no registration required. Students and guardians are encouraged to attend each seminar together.

If you are starting to navigate your way through the college search process, be sure to check out the new resources the Library has to offer. New recommended titles include Cracking the New SAT, by the Princeton Review, and Paying for College Without Going Broke 2017.

All Things Pumpkin 2017

Get into the Halloween spirit at the library with a fun-filled afternoon for families and friends this October 15.
Children are encouraged to come in costume for our annual costume parade.

Start off with Ed Pop's Magic show, games, stories, and a basket raffle, with the costume parade to follow. Snacks and cider provided by the B.F. Clyde's Cider Mill. Rain or Shine!

Make-A-Plate for October!

Come be a part of the platemaking tradition, our annual library fundraiser in the Children's Room. During normal Library hours for the month of October, you can come in and design your own colorful plate. $10.00 per plate. All proceeds will benefit the Children's Room.
