Summer 2012 Events @ the MNL!

The summer reading program begins Monday, June 25th. 

Dream Big, READ
For kids entering first grade and up. Keep track of what you read this summer and play our game every time you visit the Library to figure out the puzzle and win prizes!

Read to Me!
A joint reading activity designed for children going into Kindergarten and younger along with their care-givers. Read together and keep track to collect prizes and stickers each week.

Chess Club
Chess club continues all summer: come to the library and play a pick-up game every Saturday at 10:00.

Science Club
Join us Thursdays at 2:00 from July 5th to August 2nd for a Crime Scene Science program featuring a new mystery each week.

Lego Club
Children are invited to join in the fun at Lego Club Fridays, starting July 6th form 10:30 to 12:00 and with a different theme each week.

Children's Movie Matinees
Come to the library every Friday afternoon at 3:00 from June 22nd to August 17th for our Movie Matinees in the Ames Meeting Room. Bring your favorite snacks!

Sit, Stay, Read!
This popular program returns in July for kids and specially trained pooches.  Readers are welcome to read to a four-legged friend.  Sign up now for a 15 minute time slot between 10am - noon on: July 9, July 12, July 16, July 19, July 23, and July 26.

Saturday, May 12th is National Train Day. Join us for a special Lego Club. At 2:30, Railroad Richie will talk to us about railroad safety. (He has prizes to give away!) Immediately following, we will have Lego Club. We will build Things That Go! We'll be meeting in the Ames Meeting Room. Bring a friend. It's free! All ages are welcome.

Lego Club: Things That Go

Taking place on the 12th and 19th of May will be a special Lego Club event.

Preceding the Lego club and in honor of National Train Day we will be hosting Railroad Richie in the Ames Meeting Room on May 12th. Starting at 2:30pm he will be talking about railroad safety as part of our Things That Go railroad theme.

Children are then welcome to join us at 3:00pm for our special Things That Go! Lego Club. Legos will be provided for use though children wont be able to take their creations home. All ages are welcome and no registration is required.
