Celebrate Earth Day at the Library
The Mystic & Noank Library will be celebrating Earth
Day, April 22nd, with our friends from the Avalonia Land Conservancy.
Join us in celebrating Earth Day with stories, crafts,
coloring, and recycled art. Find stories
and books that highlight the nuances of a fantastic world, from microscopic
bugs to massive oceans. Activities appropriate for children of all ages will be
available in the Children’s Room.
Avalonia Land Conservancy Inc. preserves natural habitats in
southeastern Connecticut by acquiring and protecting lands and by communicating
the value of these irreplaceable resources.

Author Reading: Once Upon a Placement

Teen Craft Club
Have a crafting idea on your mind? Perhaps a project already
underway? Join us at the Mystic and Noank Library this spring for our Teen
Crafting Club.
Running from April 25th to June 6th,
the Crafting Club will meet every other Monday night at 7:00 P.M. Get together
with like-minded teens, spread ideas, and share your crafts. Materials will be
made available from the Libraries craft closet. Bring your projects!
Spring Reading Contest 2016
April 1st - April 30th
Join the paper chain and win prize baskets!Sign up and grab your reading log at the library beginning the last week in March for our Spring Reading Contest. Record the number of minutes you read (or are read to) each day and let us know how much you are reading by coming in and adding a link to our paper chain for each hour you read.
Turn in your reading log on April 30th to be considered for prize baskets given to the top readers in each category; Read-to-Me, Early Readers, and Independent Readers. Be sure you record and total all of your minutes, identify the category reader you are, and complete the paper chain!
Lego® Club
The Mystic and Noank Library will be hosting a free-build Lego®
Club afternoon on April 19th from 2:30 to 4:00. Make use of the Libraries
Lego® collection to unleash your creativity and share it with others.

Gaming Day
Get your game on at the Mystic and Noank Library this
spring. Gaming offers an outlet for creativity and problem solving, while the
library provides an atmosphere of community and sharing.
Saturday, April 16th, the library will be unveiling our new
Wii U Library console. From 3:00 to 5:00 the library will be hosting a casual
tournament alongside the unveiling of the library's console in the Ames Meeting
Room.
