Saturday, February 7th, 2015 10am - 5pm
The Mystic & Noank Library Children’s Room joins hundreds of libraries across the country to celebrate the third annual Take Your Child to the Library Day.
On Saturday, February 7th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Library will
feature games, crafts and films that encourage children to enjoy the
Library, sign up for a library card, and join others for a day of fun.
This
grass-roots effort was started in 2012 by Waterford, Connecticut
Children’s Librarian, Nadine Lipman, and Stratford, Connecticut’s
librarian, Caitlin Augusta. After three years, over 400 libraries in
38 states (to date) are participating.
The
Mystic & Noank Library will feature children’s Valentines
crafts, Chess and board games, a reptile presentation
by the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center at 11 a.m., and a double
feature movie in the Ames Room starting at 1:00 p.m. All events are
free and open to the public.
