Winter Storytimes begin the week of January 5th and last for eight weeks.

Movie Matinee

Join us in the Ames Room on Saturday, January 3rd at 3:00 pm. We will be showing Wall:E! The movie is rated G. This program is free and open to the public. Bring your own snack and something comfortable to sit on.

Chess Club

Chess Club will not be held on Saturday, December 27th.

Bedtime Stories

Join us for Bedtime Stories upstairs by the fireplace on Monday, December 8th at 6:30 pm!

lowercase magazine

Next meeting will be held on December 4th at 4pm. lowercase will be made up of stories, poems, and art created by elementary school children in the Mystic area.

Chess Club

There will not be Chess Club on Saturday, November 29th.

Sit! Stay! Read!

Sign up to read to a pooch! A program for kids entering the first grade and up. Sign up for a 20 minute reading session --- to be held on Saturday, November 8th and Saturday, November 15th from 10 am to noon.

Platemaking

Design your own colorful plate during the month of October here in the Children's Room. These plates make great gifts and should arrive in time for holiday gift giving. $8.00 per plate. Proceeds benefit the Children's Room.

Chess Club for kids entering 2nd grade and up!

Starting now throughout the year join us every Saturday at ten o'clock in the morning in the Ames Room with instructor Adam Melch.

Lessons and tournaments are held on alternating weeks.

Summer Reading Club

We still have plenty of ticket vouchers left to any home Connecticut Defenders baseball games on Sundays through Thursdays through this season. By reading four books (outside of your required schools books), you may receive two ticket vouchers given to you by the Children's librarian ( All vouchers are based on availability). All kids 14 and under are eligible.

To win vouchers, bookmarks listing your four completed books must be received and initialed by the librarian.

The Golden Compass

Don't miss The Golden Compass, part of our Tuesday Night Movies program on July 29th; it starts at 6:30 PM.

New London ChessFest III

All kids who take part in the Mystic and Noank Library Chess Club are welcome to take part in the chess tournament being held at the Historic Downtown Waterfront Park in New London on Saturday, July 26th. There is a special kids' tournament division. Registration is from 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Also note that Chess Club will not be held at the Mystic and Noank Library that day.

Catch the Reading Bug Update

The last day to take part in Catch the Reading Bug game is Saturday, August 2. So be sure to come in and play, and try to solve the puzzle before the game ends.
