Ready_Set_Code

Every Monday at 7pm the library will be hosting a workshop introducing 10-14-year olds to the basics of coding in a fun and accessible environment.

Using software like Alice, Scratch, code.org, and bootstrap teens can learn to code and create. Workshops will run July 28th through August 18th; registration is required.Laptops are not required, but helpful.

Book Trailers Workshop

Teens can learn to create multimedia trailers for their favorite books! Participants will edit videos, adding music and narration to create their own. Teen volunteers may work on their videos while volunteering at the Library. Laptops are not required, but helpful.

An introductory class will be held Monday, July 2nd at 3:30pm.
Mondays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, July 7th through July 28th
Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, July 9th through July 30th
Saturdays from 10:00am to 11:00am, July 19th and July 26th

Teen Art Labs

The library will be continuing its afternoon teen art labs every Monday at 2:00pm.

Join us Thursdays at 2:00 in the Children's Room for our various science programs, each featuring a new subject each week.

Preschoolers Science Series

Wednesdays at 10:30 the library will be hosting Pre-K programs presented by the Children’s Museum of SECT. Explore a different subject each week. Registration is required.

Spring Reading Contest!

March 31st - May 3rd

Sign up and grab your reading log at the library beginning the last week in March for our Spring Reading Contest. Record the number of minutes you read (or are read to) each day and let us know how much you are reading by coming in and adding a link to our paper chain for each hour you read.

Turn in your reading log on May 3rd to be considered for prize baskets given to the top readers in each category; Read-to-Me, Early Readers, and Independent Readers. Be sure you record and total all of your minutes, identify the category reader you are, and complete the paper chain!
